Breaking the Cycle is about inspiring Mainers to pursue meaningful and gainful careers to create a more economically secure future for themselves and their families. Our staff of workforce development professionals provide expert guidance, motivational training and critical resources to support each person’s success. Everyone is offered opportunities to achieve at their highest level through further education including English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL), high school diplomas and two and four-year college degrees. There are also job training programs for careers in Maine’s fastest growing industries. Raising a family while starting or re-starting a career can be difficult at times, so we offer case management and work closely with our community partners to provide supports when obstacles and personal challenges arise.
Breaking the Cycle is offered in partnership with the Office of Family Independence, State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services. The program serves individuals who are receiving or eligible to receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits.
