Get financial assistance
Fedcap Veterans provides short-term and emergency assistance to cover groceries, rent, utilities, heating oil, home repairs, clothing, and car repairs. You will need the following to complete the application:
- Proof of Maine residency
- Copy of DD Form 214
- Estimate/bill from vendor OR lease and notice of arrears from landlord
- Two months of recent bank statements
- Proof of hardship, such as eviction notice or proof pension has been filed (if applicable)
- Details regarding household income and expenses
To qualify for Veteran Emergency Financial Assistance Program (VEFAP) funds, a discharge status of “Honorable” or “General Under Honorable Conditions” is required. For those who do not meet this requirement, philanthropic funding may be available as an alternative.
Get housing assistance
We work with partners and programs across Maine to secure short- and long-term housing for veterans. You may apply for assistance if you are currently unhoused or are at risk of losing your home.
Once stable housing is secured, we’ll continue working with you to support your path toward meaningful employment and self-sufficiency.
